Family Child Care Homes
What Are Family Child Care Homes?
The East Coast Migrant Head Start Project now offers another service option through Family Child Care Homes, providing high-quality Head Start services directly in licensed family child care programs. Through these partnerships with dedicated in-home providers, we enroll children in nurturing, small-group settings and support both families and providers to ensure comprehensive Head Start services.
How Our Family Child Care Homes Work
Our contracted family child care home providers care for a small group of children supported by our trained specialists. These specialists assist providers in meeting state licensing requirements, Head Start Performance Standards and maintaining continuous quality improvement. In addition, they conduct bi-weekly program visits, home visits, and provide case management to ensure families receive health, education, and family services.
